my translation !

TRANSLATION OF AN ARTICLE

First of all, thanks a lot for your participation.

Reduce that page half screen, and open a second time this site in a second window half screen in order to keep the explanations open while you make manipulations.

clic on "participate" in the menu "the site"

enter a login and your email adress
You receive immediatly an email whith your password which allows you in the "private area’ of the menu "the site"

change the administration language top right in the private area.
It will translate the menus for the navigation. All the languages are not there, but choose one. You will soon surely find your own language out of 160 different ones.
When you navigate in the language you chose, you could sometimes not find what we are speaking about in the following english explanations. So come back to english language for a while, just to find the menu we are speaking of.
To find the article you want to translate, paste this adress in your adress bar : and open it in the private area.
You will see there all the sections of this site.

Select your article among them, and clic on the little triangle at the left of "ARTICLE LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATIONS "(these words in the language you chose)

sometimes it’s not easy to open it, click several times, and clic below on "write a new translation of this article"

BEFORE BEGINNING THE TRANSLATION
(because you’re sure to forget later)

Your article is open. Give to it immediatly a title (21 caractères maximum, spaces included, in order it will be on just one line in the red menu) and save.

Come back and clic again on the little triangle left of "ARTICLE LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATIONS "

and choose the language to which you want to translate among the 160 of the scrolling list.

then clic on "modify this article"

HERE WE ARE READY TO START !

begin by the key words and description, just under the title.
Write the first sentence, and erase the previous one, not the inverse because you could be disturbed by a phone call !
Be very careful to not erase the signs "|" if there is a table in the text, or other signs for hyperlinks, or others.

Save every 5 sentences.

and have a look to your page like it will be on line, whith clic on "show preview" under the article number, when you have saved.

ATTENTION : don’t remove signs of table or pictures or hyperlinks when you erase the previous text. When you see a change while your preview, come back to correct it.
if you want to put an hyperlink to another page, mostly don’t modify the links which are to the sections, and not to the articles.
So the link to your article which is in this section (or will be) will automaticly work when you will write it.

Pay attention that the text you write will not be exactly the same on line, worstly it will be different if you use internet explorer, firefox or another navigator !
By instance, return to next line:
Twice "enter" is enough to tell internet explorer that you go to the next line.
And if you use this navigator, it will seem ok to you when you try "preview".
But Firefox needs sign < br/> (whithout space) to understand that it’s a new line, and you will see an awful text all written whith following words whithout any paragraph.

We are lucky, because internet explorer understands also "< br/>" (whithout space)
So we will use it everytime we go to next line
and "& nbsp;< br/>" (without space after & and < ) everytime we need a blank line for paragraph.

Do you know the wellknown story "do what I say and not the same I do" ???
All my articles written before march do not respect this rule, and I’m obliged now to change that in about 100 articles !
So please, if you translate one of them before I had time to change, respect the new rule and not the same you see.
Because it will be very difficult for me to find where to put the signs in a language I do not know !

For all explanations about how to put your text on line, add pictures, set a table…. click here

here we are, it was not so complicated !

and, again, thank you for your participation.

see you

Jean-Claude
