This road leads you, after a strong rise at the beginning (to be made without problem), through beautiful hills and splendid valleys to the hamlet La Douche.
And back to the camp-site by the centre town of Le Bugue.
This road is about 7km long = 150 minutes.
Can also be made by bike (perhaps first part walking pushing the bike !).
On the left while leaving the camp-site. Continue this road, while passing by the back of Intermarché, towards the main road. Continue and turn left in direction of the center of Bugue.
Cross the bridge, and left up to « l’office de tourisme » left side. Cross the street and follow « Grotte de Bara Bahau » pannels.
In this still authentic cave claws of bears are approximately 35000 years old (blows of claws, not bears!) and drawings on rock about 14000 years old.
In front of this cave you have a superb sight on “the valley of Vézère”.
Continue this road up to the pannel « Canteygat ».
There, on your right, and 10 m furter, turn left just before the two concrete pills.
Follow this path up to another path leading to the forest in front of you.
You see yellow indications 4b and 5.
Descend this path until you have a separation: take the right side = 4b.
Follow this way until you have a ground in the open air. You cross this ground.
Benefit from the diversity of the plants. : brooms, thistles, mulberry trees, fir trees and ferns.
After a turn on the left you arrive on another way.
We approach the noisy D710 . Cross it, go a little on the right and turn on the left a few meters after constructions.
Follow the way to the square on D710.
A your left you see some birdcages. They are just like the pond private property, therefore prohibited to enter it.
Follow the path until you arrive on the asphalt road.
Do you have still time enough ? So climb to the hamlet "La Douche ».
Just as if time stopped there…
Once awake, turn over to the crossing. Descend the road 4b and go on the left of the water pump, and continue the way along the brook “la Douche”.
This small brook provides drinking water to Le Bugue.
You pass on your line the remainders of the old water mill.
the small locks which regulated the number of revolutions of the wheel, are still visible.
splendid small piece of nature!
At the end of this path you arrive on a more metalled one.
Staight on (see yellow arrow). Next crossing, descend the right side.
so you let the yellow cross and the dancing « Via Notte » on your left !
Once again cross prudently D710 and turn right: you turn left behind the garage direction « les Babots ».
Keep left.
Passing by the cemetery you arrive on the large place « Place du Pré St Louis »
Let it on your right and enter the main steet « Rue de Paris ».
Half way on your left is the terrace of "l’hôtel de Paris".
It’s nice to have a rest under the beautiful trees.
Keep on up to the now well known bridge.
And follow pannels « Camping le rocher de la Granelle».
